Hello Design Peeps! Let’s get started with a step by step guide on Christmas Decor done Easy!
Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. You probably have some leftover turkey in fridge, and are ready to focus on getting ready for Christmas!
No Stress Christmas Decorating
That’s correct! Decorating can be fun and I’ll show you how. My first suggestion for Christmas decor done easy is to relax and let go of the stress. Unless you are in a contest for the best Christmas tree, there is nothing to worry about. Ha, ha, ho, ho!
Deciding where to place your tree is the first step in making your whole space a merry place.
Here are some photos of my living room before I started decorating. As we move along, you will notice I moved a few small items which is pretty common during the decorating process.
Where to Place the tree
So, you want to look at your your whole space first. In this living room you may be tempted to place the tree in the upper left corner of the room – on the left side of the fireplace. However, this isn’t my recommendation! Get creative and use the symmetry of your space to place the tree in a more unexpected spot. Can you guess where? Yup, right in the center of the room behind the sectional.

Creating Your Christmas Decor Pallette
Bring out all your storage bins so you can see what decorations you have available. This is a bit tedious, but helps when you are deciding where you want to place your decor. Also, this is a good time to decide what theme you want to accentuate (if you have one).
For example, I love deer and use them predominately throughout my Christmas decor. Remove all the items you think you will use from the bins and place them on the floor. Most of us have our favorite collections we use from year to year. Remember, they don’t always need to go in the same place. Get creative, and decide where you would like your main decor pieces to go. Then you can fill in with your other decor items afterward. This allows you ample room for the most important decorations to shine! Feel free to decorate in your own style. You may go wild with Christmas decor, or you may be more subdued. No pressure, it’s your home!
Decorating the Tree
There are countless videos out there showing you how to decorate your tree. Everyone has an opinion! Here are a few basic tips to help you get started, Follow these steps and you will have a beautiful tree, regardless of your budget.
1. Set up the tree and lights. Adjust branches if it’s an artificial tree.
2. Start with you tree topper. Place the topper first so it doesn’t interfere with the rest of your decor.
3. Look at the tree, and place larger ornaments inside the open areas. This creates a three dimensional effect once the tree is done.
4. Feel free to use floral pics as ornaments too. They add texture and color.
5. Have the lights on the tree turned on when you are decorating if possible. This helps when placing ornaments.

The Christmas tree is front and center, looking bright and festive. The fireplace and mantle are adorned in a less classic way. No garland here! The front entry welcomes you, saying come inside and stay awhile. And the nativity scene is placed at eye level for all to see.
